The Guild was founded in 2019 to provide an educational and social forum in which Catholic attorneys and other legal professionals in the Diocese of Arlington could gather to explore legal issues within the context of our shared faith. In this short time, this community has grown from a handful of attorneys on a virtual meeting to hosting large events, such as our popular evening discourses with Catholic jurists and our annual celebration for the Feast of St. Thomas More.
The Guild, while sanctioned by the Diocese, is not a Diocesan organization. We greatly appreciate the support we have received from the Diocese, which has co-hosted events with us, as well as the parishes that have allowed us to use their churches for our celebrations. However, the Guild does not receive any monetary funding from the Diocese. We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers that, to date, has been funded solely through the generosity of benefactors.
In order to continue to provide these events and expand our offerings, we need to instate yearly membership dues. Individuals wishing to join the Guild will be required to pay $100 per year (running July 1 through June 30). Members will have access to all Guild events free of charge, and will be able to use members-only groups on Facebook and LinkedIn. In addition, the Guild is planning to offer a one-credit faith-based wellness CLE in the spring, at no cost to members.
We appreciate your understanding and, as a thank you, are pleased to offer a discount – dues for members paying on or before June 22 will be $85. The Guild is a qualified 501c3 organization for charitable purposes, and we can provide a letter confirming your donation upon request. Additionally, corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are available. Membership dues may be paid online at Support - The Thomas More Guild of the Arlington Diocese. Select “Donate Now” and change the default amount to $85.00.
